The first world war erupts across Europe disrupting the lives of four French Friends caught up in its turmoil. They are forced to confront their circumstances at the wars outbreak, with two trapped in Germany, a third in a French army facing impending battle with the Germans and the youngest abandoning years of study to help attend to the wounded who are flooding into Paris

The war’s terrible new realities provide many challenges before they at last find themselves reunited in Paris as a massive German offensive threatens to engulf the city. What they discover adds new meaning to their relationships and inspiration to face coming challenges.
